Recreational
Resources:

Talbot County features over 600 miles of coastline, innumerable inlets and coves, and a great many opportunities for the public to get on the water.  Natural resources abound throughout the county, including:

  • Black Walnut Point Natural Resource Management Area is located at the southern tip of Tilghman Island.

  • The Jean duPont Shehan Audubon Sanctuary, has been recently created and is not yet open to the public.  As a sanctuary owned by the National Audubon Society, this area will be used to study and protect the wildfowl of the Upper Eastern Shore.

  • Pickering Creek Environmental Center is a privately-owned area of important natural resources owned by the Chesapeake Audubon Society, a local chapter of the National Audubon Society.  The center hosts the public for environmental education programs.

  • Seth Demonstration Forest is a state forest created to explore forest management techniques and provide recreational opportunities.  The forest is located southeast of Easton.
